MP: IPU adopts urgency of an article on Gaza

GENEVA (IRNA) -- Rapporteur of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Kazem Jalali said on Monday that the participants at the 121st General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union adopted urgency of an article on Gaza.

The new decision enables the council of Asian parliaments to put the issue of Palestine on the agenda of IPU, he said.
He predicted that the issue of Gaza and the dire humanitarian situation there to be included in the form of a resolution on Wednesday, he said.
When the Omani representative delivered a proposal jointly prepared by Iran on adopting urgency of an article on Palestine, representative of the Zionist regime lodged a protest at the move seeking an explanation.
Organizers of General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union authorized representative of the Zionist regime to deliver speech out of turn, so, the Iranian and Iraqi delegations walked out of the congress for few minutes in protest.
IRNA reporter in Geneva said that head of Iranian delegation Ali Larijani held various meetings with foreign dignitaries taking part in the IPU meeting.
The Iranian delegation is scheduled to deliver speech on Tuesday to offer its proposals on various issues, he said.
